Cohb

The drive from Blarney to Cohb was but yet another adventure with GPS redirects after mistakes in the cursed round a-bouts. We read that one wrong turn can add another 1/2 hour to your drive. I’m sure we have seen roads that even the Irish don’t know about.

We took a small ferry across the water and đź’« we were in Cohb.

We stayed in a mini apartment with a full kitchen and made our dinner – booked from Blarney. No more surprises.

First stop on the tourist agenda- the Titanic museum.

Like all of the Irish museums, this one was well done – you felt like you were actually on the ship. Heartbreaking to see the number of children in third class that drowned. When you pay your admission, you are given a replica of the original ticket made out in the name of an actual passenger. At the end of the exhibit you can check in the passenger list board to see if you survived. Ingenious!

Cohb was the last stop before the Titanic sunk and where a number of Irish third class passengers embarked.

After the museum, we walked to the cathedral. Amazing magnificence for such a small town.

We cooked porridge with fruit the next morning but sad to say, it couldn’t compete with the real Irish breakfasts we have become accustomed to.
