Challenged by countless turnabouts, we did manage to find our way to the dingle peninsula. Our driver and I were in a heated discussion about the route – I wanted to include the Shelling circle which was a longer drive. Connor pass was amazing, especially if you weren’t driving.

Amazing beaches and crazy steep and winding roads greeted us on route to the actual town of Dingle- a beautiful little seaside town lined with craft and sweater shops and street side seafood cafes.

After having some fish and chips sitting in the sun, we set out to drive the famous peninsula. We fought with a few roundabouts, but felt we were finally on our way to checking off the Dingle from our bucket list. But, imagine our chagrin when the road forked- one fork towards the water and one straight ahead! What to do when your GPS is as confused as you are? Long story short- we took the road not taken and after a half hour or we kind of noticed that the ocean seemed to have changed sides. Imagine our surprise when a small seaside town appeared just over crest of the hill. When we approached it it looked somehow familiar…and more familiar …until we exclaimed – what the heck! This is Dingle!. Another threat by the driver to return the car – and an outright refusal to take another run at the Dingle Peninsula circle tour despite our begging and wailing.
Back on the road with steam leaking from all of the windows. With considerable convincing, the driver finally broke down and agreed to tackle the Ring of Kerry. With considerably less bungles, we did get to see the amazing ocean views from the hilly cliffs and winding country roads

On route, we came upon an imaging surfing beach with incredible sand as far as the eye could see. Who knew! Inch beach. And the sun came out to greet us as we walked along the sand to the water. There were cars driving on the sand right up to the water.

We stopped later at another seaside town, Waterville. I found the most amazing little craft store run by two artisan women who made incredible felted wool dolls, very unique sweaters and blown glass jewelry. Most of the craft shops have mass produces souvenirs but this one was particularly unique.

After an incredibly long day and overwhelming natural beauty we arrived in Killarney where we stayed in another BandB.
Just love your pictures of you guys. You are seeing the best of Ireland – enjoy.
